Official European Union Languages

Canada, USA, Mexico a North American Union?
There is talk of this happening withing the next ten years. This union would be very much like the European Union. Everyone would be able to live or work anywhere in this union. I guess English, French, and Spanish would all become official languages of this union.
Would this Union be a good thing?
I think it would be a great idea, but I doubt that Canada would want anything to do with the US.
