European Union Working Permit

european union working permit
Do you need a work permit to work in Denmark?

If i am a european union citizen, and want to move there with work and study purposes, will i need a work permit. The answers i found in the internet were rather controversial, some say that I need it, and others tell that it is not required for eu-citizens. I would be thankful if someone could answer my question for sure.

The answer actually depends on which European country you personally come from. If you are from one of the 10 new EU countries, then YES you do need a work permit.

In 2004 and 2007, the EU increased its number of member states by a total of 12. Citizens of 10 of these countries – Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia – are subject to transitional rules when seeking to work in Denmark.

The transitional rules apply only to citizens of the new EU countries working as employees in Denmark.
