Who will win when the US declares war on the European Union?
Well this is never going to happen, but sure here are some numbers:
European Union combined has an Active Service Personnel force of 2,281,700. compared to China’s 2,250,000, or the US’s 1,473,900.
EU combined has a Reserve force of 6,166,560 compared to China’s 800,000 or the US’s 1,458,500.
EU combined has a Paramilitary force of 911,572 compared to China’s 3,969,000 or the US’s 453,000.
So combined the EU would be the largest Army on Earth in terms of Manpower. These troops Unlike China are also very well funded with the best Equipment money can buy.
The EU spends a combined $312,259,000,000 on it’s military, The US $713,000,000,000, China comes third with $70,308,600,000 yes this is less but keep in mind the EU does not fund military bases round the World and America is funding a war on terror at the Moment.
I’ll give this to the US for sheer expenditure they have the EU pipped. The EU does have a larger economy than America at US$18.4 trillion in 2008 compared to the US’s US $14.3 trillion 2008, and would America be able to continue this spending as long as the EU could. The EU is also the biggest trading partner of Russia, China, India and the US and while the US is a net Importer of Goods ans Services, the EU is the worlds biggest Exporter and is not Shackled with trillions in debt like America.
The European Union has the more tanks than any other military at 12,876 more fighter jets at 4,144 and more transport Aircraft at 1,682.
The US only surpasses the EU in the number of Aircraft Carriers and Nuclear Submarines.
When it comes to Nuclear weapons both sides have enough of them the US more but both sides could happily wipe each other off the map.
The EU is not a World Military Superpower simply because we choose not to be, we’ve seen our continent decimated by war and see no point in it, we’re more concerned with the welfare of our citizens, but we’re more than capable of defending our Union from any aggressor.
