Lisbon Treaty and the future of the European Union, your thoughts?
So with the confirmation of the 2nd referendum on the Lisbon Treaty just wondering what peoples thoughts on the matter are? Mainly a question for Europeans.
I voted yes last time myself and will do so again, most likely. I have taken the time to read the consolidated version of the treaty. It’s a couple of hundred pages long and a very complicated document and most likely the text’s meaning and the way in which parts of it will be implemented will be debated for years. But in the end I believe the streamlining and greater integration in the functioning of the E.U. will be good for all the member countries. What do you guys think?
For those outside the EU what do you think about the European Union in general?

The ratification of the Lisbon treaty would be a big step forward.
The EU will integrate even more in the coming decade
because it has to. In order to ensure the interests of all
EU members on a global stage we need to coordinate
the economy, the politics and the societies in an efficient way.
I´m very positive about that because I see a young upcoming generation which is deeply bound to EU-European ideals.
