EU official says earthquakes in Chile and Haiti are proof of global warming – acceptable behaviour?
.
I’m guessing that most of you outside Europe won’t have heard of Piotr Kaczyński (no relation to Ted Kaczyński that i know of!) but he’s a senior analyst with the Centre for European Policy Studies – a research arm of the European Union government which advises it on policy issues and helps to shape EU Government agendas
Anyway, in a recent twitter feed http://twitter.com/pm_kaczynski/status/9800795505 Mr Kaczyński makes this riposte to global warming sceptics:
“”Haiti, Chile- earthquakes. ‘A perfect storm’ in Western Europe. Iceberg is off Antarctica- first two months of 2010. So, no climate change?”"
~ Now, anyone can make a silly comment on Twitter, but when that person is an advisor to a international governmental body, is this kind of ill-informed and partisan comment worrying?

Typical clueless comment from a deceived alarmist politician. Acceptable? Consider the source, then ignore as required.
This is a perfect example of the logical fallacy misplaced authority, and using his position in society as a bully pulpit.
