Mad of the European Government to give activists millions of taxpayers money to lobby it on Global Warming?
. . . Or does it make good sense if you have an agenda you need help pushing?
The BBC ran a story a while ago revealing how the EU is giving activists groups MILLIONS every single year to lobby it on global warming. In fact, as the BBC discovered, some of the more extreme groups, like Friends of the Earth Europe, got more than half of all their funding from taxpayers’ money doled out by the EU.
The EU Environment Directorate, whilst admitting it was [quote] “”a bit schizophrenic”" gave more than 11 MILLION DOLLARS (7.7M €) in 2006 alone to such groups as WWF and Friends of the Earth.
How can they justify giving away taxpayers money to fund protests and lobbying? And what does the European Union get out of it?

This really does not seem much different than placing the biggest GW proponent (Hansen) in charge of finding out if GW is taking place. I’m sure you are going to get unbiased analysis there.
