With the European Union now in effect for a long time, does Benelux still serve a purpose?

Essentially, I’m asking what is the use of the Benelux economic union for Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg when they also now all belong to the European Union.

None in my opinion, the EU will slowly take over the entire world and lead us into a one world government.
