UK passport for newborn baby?
Hello,
My wife and I are both European Union citizens, having settled in Britain since 99 and 97 respectivelly.
Our baby was born a month ago and we realised that since we have been here for more than 5 years he is entitled to british nationality and british passport.
I was told that first my wife and I need to obtain permanent residency by filling out a form at the home office. However, we have also been told that this is optional and we should be automatically considered as permanent residents.
If we send the baby’s application form and our EU passports to the passport agency are they likely to just accept this or will they return them to us? Is there any particular text that we can write in Section 8 to remind them of a specific act or regulation on the grounds of which we are making the application?
many thanks in advance for all answers.
I wouldn’t have thought that you would have to remind them, if you fill in the relevant form.
