What do you think about Turkey?

Why some nations oppose the membership of Turkey to the European Union? Is it just because Turkey has different religion?
What is the official website of the Turkish government?
Can you please give me a link to a Hungarian embassy in Istanbul?

As a Turk, I know Turkey is not ready for EU membership.
Freedom of speech, democracy issues, human rights issues are problems Turkey should solve.
EU is being helpful for solving these problems but our government is not that enthusiastic. Politicians always abused people here. There was always a oligarchy of political party leaders.

Some people of central and east Europe are not in favor of Turkey’s entrance because of Ottoman complex. And yes some conservative religious people don’t want muslims.
But half of people living in EU wants Turkey’s entrance.
People opposing Turkey’s membership are the ignorant and uneducated part.
For example you see the answer above me, who says he hated Turks because some people treated him bad when he was in holiday. Does this sound educated or wise to you?

And people of Hungary are the most positive people towards Turkey from what I’ve read from internet.

Everything will be better within time, it’s our bad luck we were born early.
