is it possible that a western union transfer can take one day from UK to another european country?

i have to receive some money from a person in uk.i am living in another european country.the person told me he sent the money ,he also gave me the MTCN but he said that the money will be transfered during one day.so i wont get it today,only tomorrow…is this possible through western union?i thought they do it in minutes..i m afraid i might not see my money anymore.i have also checked the transfer status and it says there is no transfer under that MTCN or so..how long does it take for the WU system to process the info?pls help…its quite alot of money and i am afraid …thanx

Normally the transfer is available for collection within 1 hour (country dependent – check with your nearest WU office), dependent on time-zone (opening times of WU branches).

If the transfer has not been made within that time period, it is cause for complaint.
