Can someone wxplain to me the connection between democracy and the dominion of canada birth.
And the connection between democracy and the european member states(European union).

Democracy is the people of a region making choices about their own future, either by personal voice or through elected representatives. The people of the British colonies in North America decided they wanted to be their own country and presented the request to the Imperial Government in Britain who agreed and granted Canada it’s independence.
In the case of the European Union, again the people chose that it would be to their advantage to have a continental government to coordinate the things that were operating across the existing national boundaries.
This is democracy at work as opposed to being shoved down the people’s throat at gun point by some big hatted foreigner.
