Yes, EFTA was one of the factors that increased integration within Europe. The founding members were Austria, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, but now only 4 remain. The current countries that are a part of it are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Norway. I’m pretty sure this is so because under the EU there is a new free trade agree within the EU itself, but I’m only assuming this.
