Western Civ Essay question – do not understand?

I have a 3 page paper to write, and I simply do not understand the question:

The issues we face today as a culture have their roots in the deep and complex history of Western Civilization. Choose 3 of these issues and discuss how and why each is the result of the ideas and historical forces that shaped Western Civilization

Possible issues: Health Care, Gay Marriage/Rights, Israeli/Palestinian relations, President Obama, Global Warming, the wars in Afghanistan and/or Iraq, the potential of North Korea or Iran developing nuclear weapons, the European Union, the current global economic crisis, the Tea Party movement, sex abuse by the Roman Catholic clergy, the energy needs of the US and the world…

I think say you dont understand the question because it is too broad….easiest thing for you to do is pick up today’s paper or go to an online paper..pick three headlines and relate the subject of the articles somehow to western culturual history.. first one that comes to mind which you could probably get a three pager out of alone is immigration..How and why is our current immigration issue a result of the ideas and historical forces that shaped Western Civilization. You can do it..you just have to do some research. Only 3 pages?? wow.. that’s great..so you only need a few paragraphs for each.

Eliciting cooperation from Beijing on Iran is challenging for Washington because China’s equi…

Navigating a Nuclear Minefield: The United States, Europe, and Iran (Brussels Forum Papers)

U.S. and European policymakers worry that a nuclear Iran would fundamentally change the strategic face of the Middle East and wider region. Since November 2011, the United States and Europe have led an international effort to introduce more sanctions on Iran. But the history of sanctions against Iran shows that, while effective at crippling the country’s economy, they have been far less successful…
