Would the European Union accept the United States as a member nation?
If things get real bad in the USA,with the Dollar collapsing,more people losing their homes and wars that go on and on with no end in sight,could the USA join the European Union?
I can’t see any reason why they can’t.Most EU nations are members of NATO just like the US is and have been in it for over 50 years.It would be great if the US joined the EU,people in america could travel to the EU without a passport and use the same currency there,would’nt that be great?
It does not say anywhere in the EU Charter that other members must be on the European Continent.Most americans would want to join,it would be like joining a rich country club.
Chimera,how do you know what the EU what or needs? Have you read it’s charter?You sound like a angry wanker who hates the US.I feel very sorry for you,for you must be bloody jealous of the US.Is that self explanatory enough for you?
The EU is taking in members from outside of the geographic limits of the European continent.
Like Turkey, Israel, Ukraine, Belarus, and all the countries ending in “-stan” etc…..
The EU is much more than just a continent, it’s the values, diversity of cultures, strong economies, rich and shared history. It’s something that would be of interest to the Americans.
It’s about advancing and spearheading human rights in Europe and around the world through diplomacy and non-aggression.
