European Union Health And Safety

Affordable Education?

Many countries in the European Union offer University for 500 Euros ($800) a semester. Most of Europe has experienced a catastrophic war about 1/2 century ago. Yet they have a better economy than the US of A. They have great social safety nets, such as unemployment benefits, health care, and welfare. The mother of a newborn gets a year off with pay. Europeans get 6 weeks off a year for vacation.

This sounds like an imaginary place. But it is not. It really exists. Why can’t the US of A do this for its workers?

Affordable education for post secondary would certainly lead to a better American society don’t you think?
Edit

To those that want a road trip to europe, Palin is looking into building a tunnel from Alaska to the continent just west of her. She is not really sure what continent that is, she suspects it is Europe since Russia is in Europe.

We used to be like that. I went to a good university and got a degree in Engineering. I graduated in 1963. Upon graduation I owed my parents 500 dollars and nothing else. I paid for my own Education by working summer jobs. And I paid my parents back within a six months.

I saw a couple on TV the other day, just starting out. Between them they were saddled with over 400K in student loans. That is a disgrace.
I am ashamed that it is this way.

I agree with you on your question and many of the answers I’ve seen from you.
