Why Europe Won’t Sanction Iran?

US stands alone in proposing new sanctions on more than 20 Iranian major banks and companies.

The US also charges Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and key individuals like General Rahim Safavi, commander of the IRGC, with proliferating weapons of mass destruction and funding terror groups with income generated from European trade.

The European Union, a 27-nation European trading partnership, is Iran’s best trading partner, accounting for 28 percent of its total trade in 2006 and 40 percent of Iran’s imports.

Europe is also Iran’s primary importer of energy, lapping up 88 percent of all Iranian energy products.

The 125,000 member IRGC has grown exponentially under the regime of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

US Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson warned that the IRGC “…is so deeply entrenched in Iran’s economy and commercial enterprises, it is increasingly likely that if you are doing business with Iran, you are doing business with [the Guard].”

Why do you even ask that? Isn’t it obvious that it is only the US who is bothered by Iran and no other country in the world. If the EU considered Iran as a risk to international security, then of course they would be against it. The truth is, US can’t stand to have anyone else have weapons of mass distraction besides them. France has it, India has it, why do you think Iran is suddlenly the problem?

Let me tell ya, India and France have no oil, do they. Iran on the other hand supplies at least 60% of oil in the world. The US wants a piece of that! Why do you think they are in Iraq? Do you have any idea how much the US earns on oil they extract from Iraq and supplies it to other countries or straight to the states. Do you honestly think that the US is in Iraq, coz it is a threat to them or anyone else or because they are trying to solve their problems. Even those poor young men that are fighting and loosing their lifes over there, will tell you that the war there is completely pointless as to the official reason why they are fighting.

The same goes for Iran – just an excuse to attack and profit from it!

One thing I gotta say, they should stop spending so much on weapons and tryin to solve their own social problems before trying to solve anyone elses. But I guess the Bush administration doesn’t care about the fact that 60% of Americans don’t even have medical coverage but is eager to attack Iran.

Peace!
