Why is the European Union trying to meddle in World’s Financial Centre London?
Chancellor Alistair Darling has issued a warning to other European Union governments not to interfere with the competitiveness of the City of London.
“It is too simplistic to argue that financial centres in Europe are just competing among themselves,” he said. “The reality is the real competition to Europe’s financial centres comes from outside our borders. And that London, whether others like it or not, is New York’s only rival as a truly global financial centre.

Funny that within 24 hours of the Lisbon Treaty coming in to effect The European is trying to shut down Britain’s strongest sector.
London is the financial centre of the world after over taking New York in October.
