EU influence over Global Environmental policies?
Hi everyone, I’m doing an essay on the following topic.
“The European Union has strongly influenced Member State and international environmental policies. Discuss, providing supporting evidence as necessary.”
I’m getting nowhere fast could anyone give me some pointers, its a final year third level essay I’m working on!
The main EU Directives that have a real impact on manufacturing and pertain to products are the WEEE Directive and the RoHS Directive. The REACH Directive will have a huge impact on chemicals while the EuP Directive concerns with energy consumption of products. Companies need to adhere to these if the want to be able to ship product into the EU. The impact on mfg is huge as products need to be redesigned, take back programs established and chemicals classified and managed from a new perspective.
