European Union Environmental Law

Can you tell me more about how America is the dumping ground for lead-laden toys?

https://secure.consumersunion.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=NIMC_Patchthrucall_nonconstituent_070108&JServSessionIdr009=orvyxu9sd2.app44a

I looked on this site, which appears to be to advocate better testing of toys so that my kids will be safe, and I am looking for more information.

Months ago I read an article in the paper saying as the European Union and other nations have tightened their environmental standards, manufacturers, here and around the world, are selling goods to American consumers that fail to meet other nations’ stringent laws for toxic chemicals.

I don’t want poison my kids. I mean seriously lead inthe paint would contribute to the ‘dumbing down of America’.

Yes, the industry is trying to weaken the product safety bill (CPSC Reform Act), so that they can dump even more lead products here. Why don’t you get off Y A and take action, so you can stop worrying!?
