is it hard to be a truck driver????
this is my only chance what to work in my life. yeah problems.
I was growing up on a farm, so driving big tractors is too easy for me. I am skilled in driving backwards with trailers, skilled in driving in tight, small places, skilled in hooking trailers. I hope its the same with trucks.
if a company hires me, do they also teach me first how to work?
how long will I work? will I be away from home?
will I earn enough to survive and afford a small apartment?
do I need education, any school or just drivers licence?
I live in European Union and I wanna move to my friend that lives in another country and she is in trouble, so she needs my help. I asked counsellor and the quickest way to move it is to be a truck driver. and I asked embassy and because of EU, I only need a job offer to live there.
and I have really strong nerves, so waiting is nothing to me or any other stuff that is bugging drivers.
do I first need a drivers licence for a car, or can I just go for truck licence?
I would not say that it is ‘hard’, but it is certainly not something that everyone can handle. It is a stressful job… it is a thankless job… and it is not a lifestyle that suits everyone. Some driving jobs can be ‘harder’ than others though if there is a lot of physical labor involved… handbombing… tarping… chaining… etc.
Many companies have training that new drivers must go through before being allowed out on their own. Trust me… it’s a good thing, as they teach you a lot more than a trucking school does.
How long you are away from home, and how much work you do will depend on who you work for. …what kind of freight you haul, and where that freight goes to.
If you are just becoming a truck driver so you can move somewhere easily… you might want to think on that some more. It’s not cheap to get your license, and you will not be making the greatest of money for the first while.
