Why doesn’t the US government spend more money on offense?

When I say offense, I’m referring to education and health care. Yes, we have the world’s strongest defense. Our team would have a more winning record if our offense improved. Most of those other first world countries in the European Union and Japan have incredible offenses and good defense. Japan and Germany bounced back after World War II by building up their offenses. We in America are losing our compatibility because our offense is slipping away. Instead, we use our defense to invade other countries and deplete all their resources. I would be a much prouder American if our government put offense higher on the priority list than defense. If they put pork-barrel spending on offense, our country would be in much better shape. The best defense is a good offense.

andy is right, america rebuilt germany and japan, sort of like they are doing in iraq. if we didn’t revive those countries after we kicked their arses they would be no better off then haiti or any other country that is a hell hole (america invaded haiti and did not rebuild haiti, hence i use them as an example).

yes america’s schools need vast improvements, but then again america’s home structures need vast improvements. both parents are forced to work full time for the average american family now, for those who are fortunate enough to live comfortably on one income, chances are they economically capable of having their children educated in a superior school district.

as a veteran i believe strongly in having a superior defense (since you went the sport route ..then here you go, defense wins championships) i also believe if people want to college then they should have to serve the country in some manner if they expect help for furthering their education.

i agree with you on health care, something needs to be done so that insurance companies and hospitals aren’t able to get fat off of people’s misfortune. i believe it should be give and take, which means no more ridiculous law suits … lawyers should not make more than doctors if you base it off of their significance to human life. their are many countries to look at that have respectable health care systems. but americans wont ever want that as long as we allow people to come over here illegally and as long as people aren’t doing their fare-share to contribute.
