European Union Debt To Gdp

What will happen when America is no longer the only superpower?
The national debt is going to be 10 trillion dollars by the time Bush leaves office (it was 5.7 when he took office).
With that large of a debt relative to GDP, America COULD NOT EVEN JOIN THE EUROPEAN UNION because of their rules regarding economic stability.
It’s obvious the EU, and Asian communities will soon rival or even top America economically. What will happen then?
I’m surprised how many of you are in denial of this.
We’re not going to turn into a third world country, we’ll still have a lot of power…I’m just wondering what you think will happen to world relations when we don’t control the entire UN, or are the main country to bail out financially slumping countries, etc.
i’m pretty sure we already arent the only superpower. i just guess it means we’re going to have to learn to play nice.
