Isnt usa just like european union?

countries are uniting together, there’s one currency, open borders, you can move wherever you want to. can you cross the borders here in usa without showing your passport? are there customs? I’ve never travelled before, but I know in schengen zone there’s only a sign like “wilkomen to holland”, no customs, nothing. isnt this great?

I’m really wondering whats the difference in usa. its 50 states united, together. werent they separated in the past?

The main difference is that the United states are run by a central government. Each country in the European Union is run by it own government. The European Union is more of an Economic and Political agreement between the countries involved.
